False Allegations Harm Jeff Glattstein in the Healing Space
It’s no secret that sexual assault allegations have dramatically increased since the “Me Too” movement and some CEOs even say that they experience these types of allegations every week in their companies. Anecdotal data from speaking with multiple CEOs and business leaders reveals one significant common denominator that people may not know about ~ sexual assault allegations often come from ex-employees. And there’s a shadow side that very few are talking about because of fear of backlash and the taboo nature of this topic: False Allegations. False Allegations are becoming far too common.
This is exactly what happened through a collective conspiracy to harm a thriving organization, The EAST Institute and, in particular, conscious business thought leader and world-renowned shaman, Jeff Glattstein. Jeff and his wife officially founded The EAST Institute in 2021 after guidance to expand this important healing work at the intersection of ancient indigenous lineages and modern science. The EAST Institute was a leading global organization, honoring the use of traditional psychedelic plant medicines as a complement to modern medicine that over doubled in revenue from their first full year to year two.
During the last few years, EAST has graduated 3 facilitator councils, a training that students have called “absolutely life altering”. It’s probably the most in-depth facilitator training out there, especially in terms of deep medicine training and experience. As the organization grew and began receiving international recognition, it became clear that the team needed to change. As with any growing organization, some staff will grow with you and others won’t. Three, in particular, weren’t aligned for the trajectory and growth EAST was having including Nat Brown, Jackie Calvo and Natalie Mangiaracina. Nat was terminated first because of a boundary crossing he had with a student at his house – a man with whom he had a prior romantic and sexual relationship with.
Not long after these staff terminations and after legal action that EAST had to take after some of these staff stole client lists and company confidential information, there were rumblings from these three about sexual assault allegations against Jeff “during energy medicine sessions.” They all had worked with him for years and all had shared on various occasions that he “had saved their life.” Natalie shares her sincere testimony of “EAST saving her life” on a professional video. Each signed informed consents specifically for “hands on” energy work that designates where on the body – Chinese energy medicine work that Jeff has shared around the world for decades.
It was clear to the core EAST staff and key community members that if they couldn’t be a part of the organization, they wanted to destroy it and gain financial benefit. The amount of damage that was done was tremendous. Client cancellations left and right and a cloud of fear was created out of false allegation stories. A blanket of fear created out of the intent to harm and to get some kind of payout. The reputation of an incredibly gifted healer that has dedicated his life to helping humanity was severely damaged. Why? Ego, greed and the intent to harm. This is the harsh truth of those who are wounded from termination or “not being a part of.” And the truth is, false allegations belittle the ones that are real. Discernment is key when it comes to who you let into your organization.
Jeff is a warrior at the core, and he’ll come out from this stronger than ever. He’s already emerging in some powerful ways. Jeff Glattstein is meant to share his healing gifts with the world. One of his long-time clients recently shared with him “when you’re the best at what you do, they’ll come at you.” As a society, we need to open this conversation up. Men’s lives are being destroyed over false allegations. In particular, false allegations in the healing and psychedelic space are especially damaging because it’s rarer for men to be present in those spaces. Awareness needs to be brought upon this issue. So before you buy into fear-based stories, know that truth is usually found at a deeper level, beneath the surface.
